Pretty knitted wash cloths
I have a post by Zoë!:
Our new Retro Designed canisters make great kitchen storage, but they would also look lovely in a bathroom to keep all those little bits and pieces tidy. To go with the canisters you could knit a set of face cloths in coordinating colours. I have used Rico Essential Cotton Soft as it had the shades closest to the designs, I used Melon, Anthracite and Smoke. However, you could use any double knitting cotton.
To make your own face cloths you will need:
1 pair of 4.5mm knitting needles
1 50g ball of double knitting cotton
To start cast on 50 stitches, you can do more or less to change the size of your square. 50 stitches should give you a cloth about 23cm wide.
Next you need to knit in garter stitch, keep on knitting until your cloth is square. Cast off when your cloth is the size you want it. Weave in your ends and you are finished.
Wouldn't these make a great house warming present?
