Back to School
Back to school! Shiny new shoes, blazers that are a bit too big, hair brushed neat and tidy. Time to learn new things and make new friends. If, like us, you're a bit old for school, maybe you could try one of our new workshops?
A Day with Dolly Clackett - Introduction to Dressmaking
Spend a day with Roisin Muldoon (aka Dolly Clackett), who will talk you through the basics of dressmaking. Bring along a pattern and fabric of your choice; Roisin will help you read your pattern, hold your hand through cutting out, help you with the first stages of sewing and discuss your technique, so you feel able to finish your dress at home.
10.30am Sunday 15th September
Making Holes on Purpose
Learn the basics of lace knitting in 3 hours with Charlotte, whose beautiful work you will be familiar with if you come along to our knit & knatter. You will be taught eyelets and decreases, and how to read a lace chart, in a choice of 2 patterns suitable for beginners.
6.30pm Thursday 19th September
Introduction to Book Binding
This introduction to bookmaking with Chloe Hall & Sarah Glover will revolve around a traditional Japanese structure. In the 3 hour class you will make your own notebook whilst learning about bookmaking materials and their functions, providing you with the skills to tackle further projects.
2pm Saturday 28th September
As always, all of our workshops include tea and home baked cake.
