'“Oh to be a pear tree – any tree in bloom! With kissing bees singing of the beginning of the world!” Courtesy of the Zora Neale Hurston Trust, our Pear Blossom Brooch is a romantic ode to the female writer’s work of fiction, Their Eyes Were Watching God. Symbolising a growing passion the protagonist feels at the hand of different relationships throughout her story: we've reimagined the delicate beauty of pear tree branch into a 3D handcrafted objet d'art, laser cut in acrylic and wood. Hand curved to mimic the curve of real life petals, a single ivory flower blooms with hand-inked pink stamen and a rustic wooden bead pinned in imitation of mellow pollen. Where nature meets fiction, a speckled ochre pear and frosted green leaf swing from the blossom. '
