What to do with Washi - Part 14
So long as you use the right sort of pen, Washi makes great sticky labels! The below picture is courtesy of our crochet teacher, Denise (although I have suspicions that she's also a trained asassin).

Label your herbs and spices!

Batwing jumpers and ra ra skirts
Growing up in the 80s was amazing. Roller skates rocked. Deliberately ruining your clothes was cool. Making up a dance routine to Tiffany was THE thing to do on a Friday night. Crimped hair (the bigger the better) and questionable make-up was the way to go. If you didn't get a ghetto blaster for Christmas, life wasn't worth living. Computers didn't work unless you spent 10 minutes playing them a...
The fruits of our labours
Thanks to everyone who came to see us at the market! We were right opposite Santander on the Parade for those of you who missed us. Not sure where we'll be this week as it's lights switch on (really it is, I promise!).

Our new stock went down a treat, so I thought I'd share the finished product with you all.

Some of our complete craft kits - the Owls are flying out (!)

We hope you like them, we all...
Pro-Mo or Faux-Mo
Hello Mo-ophiles!

It is week 3 of growth now, and what better way to celebrate this than a visit to the Cotswolds? For the uninitiated, you may not be aware that the Mo was in fact invented in the heart of the Cotswolds in 1337 (shortly before the first tweed jacket was made). Rather than a statement about men's health, back then, the mo was used to show off the quality of wool that could be...
Tick tock...
Our Sunday deadline is fast approaching. We're gluing, sewing, printing, packing, panicking...

And admiring our new necklaces. Geometric goodness.

New Geo Necklaces

So if you're around on Sunday, we'll be braving the cold on the parade (opposite MacDonalds if it's the same pitch as last year, but we don't know yet). Come and say 'Hi' - those delivering coffee will be greeted with the widest grins! O...
What to do with Washi - Part 13
Courtesy of the lovely Janey over at Slice of Slim! Janey's blog is fantastic if you want to watch what you eat but just LOVE food. I'm particularly fond of the 'Smash & Grab' posts. Janey also introduced me to low fat feta cheese, yummy...

Kits ahoy!
We've been preparing for upcoming Christmas markets this week. Hence the lack of blog posts! Our first market is Sunday, on the Parade in Leamington Spa. There are a few projects we've had on the boil since we opened, but the Christmas markets have given us a deadline to work to!

Our craft studio looks like the elves' workshop.

Our Baby-sock-owl craft kit, back and better than ever!

Style IS Everything

Hello again, dear peruser of fine retro wares.

It has been a long week since my last article (does this feel like a confessional to anyone else?), and I am still having style issues with my mo. I did allude to the fact that the focus of this entry would be on that very subject, but for the unseasoned mo-grower out there, I feel that it is only right and proper that I convey just how much...
Ryan is on our Wall
A tube came in the post yesterday...

Now we have Ryan Gosling on our wall! We also have I <3 Mel button badges available, ask nicely when buying a colouring book and we'll give you one, whilst stocks last.

New in Mel's 'Colour Me Good' range:

C-Word has landed.
The tree is up! Sorry.

We have Christmas baubles on sale in the shop, as well as Christmas bunting, paper chains, cards made from re-claimed vintage post cards, advent calendars, hand printed lino-cut paper, postcards, tins and loads more I can't remember!

Tin baubles for storing secret coins in and pretty paperchains
Whatever happened to Christmas postcards? Well, they're back!

We also have several...
You give egg cups at Christmas, right?
Oh wait. Did I get my holidays mixed up again?

New animal-face egg cups now in stock, £7.95

Well, I think they're lovely. I thought I would want a Pug, but actually it's the Panda that has stolen my heart. They're all so cute though! I find them reminiscent of characters in Babe or Beatrix Potter books. The boxes are also a convenient shape for wrapping!

I purchased a c-word tree for the shop...
Hello From the Mo Bro!

Greetings, dear readers!

As foretold, I have been given the great honour of being a guest blogger, here, for this month to promote both gratuitous facial hair and men’s health. As this is no ordinary blog-site (you, dear readers, being of the more discerning and sartorially correct kind) I will endeavour to make my posts relevant to the fabulous wares that are purveyed by the wonderful folk...
Movember is a comin'
Hooray, men with random facial hair! It was suggested that we have a 'Crochet for Crotches' campaign this month. We are done with yarn for now though, so instead have decided to sell these little monkeys in the shop:

Perspex Moustache lapel/tie pins

Remember Wooly Willy? You used to get him in your stocking at Christmas; he had metal shavings in the packaging and a magnet, so you could give him...
What to do with Washi - Part 11
Yup. Still going.

This one wasn't actually our idea, it was gifted to us by the lovely Helena. So, thanks Helena, here it is:

Washi-covered tea lights

We think this one is pretty clever. As with all open flames, don't leave unattended. Also, don't eat them, even though they look yummy.

Stationery. Ahhhh.
No more pink for a bit! Yayyy. Don't get me wrong, it was great fun, but it's nice to be able to see my desk again. The only pink in sight is a pink starry washi tape and a pink Muppets mechanical pencil. And I think that's about enough for now.

We have taken delivery of some new bits of stationery this week. In addition to some more peas-in-a-pod rubbers, which everyone seems to love, we have had...
Mighty fine weather for YarnBombing
Actually, it was a bit on the chilly side. The stars were shining on me as I got in to my car this morning. I bet they thought 'What's she doing up? We don't normally see her before sunrise'.  It was a frosty -1 at 5.45 this morning. And dark.

Whose ridiculous idea was this anyway? 'Yours' was the resounding response from our guerrilla knitting team. What was I thinking? More to the point, why on...
Chevrons!
We're a bit chevron obsessed around here at the moment. They're on our new jewellery packaging. They're on our lino printed notebooks. With an exciting delivery that came in yesterday, we now have chevron cushions! Yay!

Hand Made by a lovey lady called Barbara
Ooh, squishy.
And yes, they look great with the new biscuit cushions!

Can't look at pink anymore.
This is my penultimate pink post, I promise! We had our fourth and final Knitting for Knockers drop in this afternoon. Thanks to everyone, again, for all your hard work and donations. Especially Zoe, who crocheted like a trooper all day! I didn't get photos of everyone today, I kept forgetting to get my camera out!

We had a little peek at all our knitting before we went home:

I got to play with paper again
Chantel & Dave are getting married on Saturday. Which means I got to make pom poms. Which makes me happy. Here is a great tutorial if you fancy having a go.

Ooh pretty.

These are 9 layers of standard tissue sheets cut in half, as Chantel wanted several small pom pom's rather than a few large ones. I think the smaller size makes them look puffier.

Chantel with Dave, looking as manly as humanly

Founding The Tunnocks Teacake Appreciation Society
Only it probably already exists. Must look that up.

We were quite busy in the shop today! The C-word is certainly being mentioned more and more... People seem to be gearing up for the festivities. C-word decorations have started appearing around town. A tree attached itself to our shop wall, with lights and everything, as if by magic (really, the fellas who put them up must have been sprinkled...
