What to do with Washi - Part 5
Use Washi to stick cards and postcards to your walls; it's low tack, so peels off easily when you fancy a change! We'll have some more festive designs and colours in for Christmas...

What to do with Washi - Part 4
Why not decorate some plain tags?

In other news, I think I've decided to get a 14.5" Zatchel in RED.

Like this one.

Only mine will have a handle on top. Yummy.

Ahhhh...Zatchels
Another fabulous box of stuff arrived last week, challenging Lomo's position as our 'most favouritest package ever'.

The Zatchels came.

This is our second order. We are so pleased the people of Leamington seem to like them as much as we do! We adore the vintage styling with a modern, brightly coloured, twist.

Amy had a special order on the shipment, a 14.5" satchel in cornflower blue, with a top...
What to do with Washi - Part 3
Here we have a jam jar that once contained honey, covered in various patterns of washi tape. Washi is slightly opaque, so when you put a tea light inside it emits a rather pleasing glow. Sorry, no glow pictures, I've been waiting for a warm, dry evening to try it out. Ha.

One small step for man....
Our friendly neighbourhood boat fitter has kindly installed this for us:
so we can now access this:
without fear of breaking our ankles on the old step.

Our Mum very kindly waved her magic (hard working) wand, filling our back yard with potted plants. Thanks guys, our 'walled garden' as we are pretentiously calling it is really starting to take shape!

Brown Owl would be proud.
We have another new stock item this week!

Our Vintage Tin Sewing Kits  have been going down a storm. People buy them as a gift for someone leaving home or going off to Uni, or for themselves if they don't have a kit and would like to start small sewing projects or fixing their own clothes.

We've noticed those who can already sew, and already have everything they need, admire them but really don't...
What to do with Washi - Part 2
The Washi keyboard being part 1.

Here we have a plain old kraft notebook, decorated with beloved Washi stripes.

We finished off the rough edges inside with more washi. Another example can be found here, along with a handy tutorial! They have cut theirs off at the edges, also cool.
A Satisfied Customer
Mya came in to our shop today. She admired a chair that was just the right size and shape for her 14 month old frame. She gave it a little try, picked it up and moved it around, sat on it and smiled for the camera, admired the jersey woven seat (nice and soft for younger bums!) and stood on it to check the craftsmanship of the chair itself. Mya then gave a polite nod to one of her entourage (her...
Brand Spanking New Lomos
Our very favourite package arrived yesterday.

GASP

The Lomos came. And we have some new designs. There is a peach one and a mint one and a white one.... And a Holga. We have been reading about Holga. She's a bit like extreme lomography, not to be undertaken lightly. She comes with tape, so you can seal up the holes that let 'unwanted' light in. Unless you want the light, that's part of the fun. Amy...
Washi Keyboard
No, don't wash your keyboard, that might break it. Washi your keyboad, so it looks just lovely, like this one:

As found at Tinkering Times.

Now I have an old Microsoft keyboard at home that I just can't seem to find a replacement for, despite it being the ugliest thing. I just can't type on anything else. The letters are nicely separated and stand proud of the board, which is nicely sloped and so...
Name That Pig!
If you missed the post, Katie at Madhatters Craft Studio gave us this fabulous piggy bank:
Photo stolen from Katie's Facebook page

We asked you to name our piggy. The name will be chosen at random and the person who came up with it will win a Berylune goodie bag, worth over £20!

Wood Cuts. With lasers. Like in James Bond.
I don't know what to call these. If I call them 'brooches', it sounds like men can't wear them. So I suppose they are 'badges', but they're a bit posher than your average badge.

They are paper images mounted on wood and cut to shape.

I think my favourite is the hoola girl at the moment. We have dozens of other images available in store, from 40's pin-ups to flying saucers!

Glue. Everywhere.
We have been gluing again. Often we miss the findings and glue things to ourselves. Some of us more often than others (Amy).  I think perhaps there is a new body-art form in the making. Though I'm relatively certain the glue we use is not supposed to be stuck to one's skin.

The result of our gluing:

 Pretty Rose Hairslides

 Bird Hairslides

(I'm not sure what pictures you were expecting, but this...
Fawns. And a Bunny.
If, like us, you love all things Fawn, with a few Bunnies thrown in for good measure, you'll love our new vintage stock:

We are especially enamored with the transfers and are fighting the compulsion to stick them to the counter, so if you're interested you had better get down here fast! I blame Disney.

Vintage Tin Sewing Kits
They're back!

Those of you who remember our completely sold out Vintage-Tin-Sewing-Kits from the Christmas Markets will be pleased (we hope) to hear they are back in stock! We have improved the contents to include a snazzy pair of sharp embroidery scissors. They come with a pretty tag attached with colourful baker's twine, so make a great gift.

A few of the designs we have available. My favourite is...
Camera Obscura
We have another new stock item in this week. Amy is very very excited about this one. So much so that within minutes of the delivery arriving, an example was made up with a crochet lace strap and everything.

It's possibly the prettiest pinhole camera I've ever seen. We'll be loading it up with some film this week to see what shots we get from around the shop...

We met with some lovely and talented...
Name That Pig & Win a Goodie Bag!
We were visited by Katie at Mad Hatter's Craft Studio this morning. Katie hosts ceramic painting parties in her studio, as well as offering a mobile service where she can bring all her gear to you! We were exploring the possibility of working together in our upstairs craft room... Watch this space!

Katie kindly brought us a shop-warming present... and here he or she is!

We need a name for our new...
Raspberry Beret
and Pink, Brown, Turquoise and many more. All the colours of the rainbow, as you would expect.

I don't suppose I should be surprised that our customised wool berets are selling during British Summertime should I? Here's me thinking berets are for Winter. A couple of examples of our recent additions below:

They are covered in an expertly selected (or totally random!) mixture of vintage buttons and...

And the Winner is.....
We have recently been running a promotion with Rebecca over at OneSugarPlease to win a goodie bag full of, well, goodies, from around our shop. Rebecca asked people to comment on why they think supporting independent shops is important.

A winning entry has now been picked.
