Friday Finds
This week's Friday Find was something of a joint effort. Fiona & I followed our noses to a car boot we have not been to before, and came across this lovely 1960s kitchen timer, in its original box!

I actually got a red one as well; the blue one is definitely for sale, but I'm not convinced I can part with the red one yet.. I wonder why the lady had two? Maybe they were an unwanted wedding present.

Washi Wednesday
Can you smell it in the air? It's that time of year again. The supermarkets dedicate entire aisles to it. I find myself being drawn to window displays full of it. Coins burn holes in my pockets until they have been spent on it. Mmmm...Stationery.

This week, we have covered natural pencils in Washi tape, so now they are pretty. All ready to be packed in to my pencil case, ready for school. Or my...
Book club update
Sorry! I posted on Facebook the winner of the battle of the books, but I completely forgot to update the blog.
The winner was Blind Faith by Ben Elton.

I read City of Bones anyway, because I'm becoming a young adult fiction fan, and can highly recommend it. It's actually been released as a film recently, Zoë and I popped to see it on Friday. It wasn't half bad, but read the book first if you can.

We'...
Why can't every weekend be a bank holiday?
I've had a fun few days!

On Wednesday night, Fiona taught a fabulous workshop on Styling your Crafts. Zoë attended along with 5 other lovely crafty & creative people, wanting to learn more about photographing their products to sell online. Everyone had such lovely goodies to photograph! Liz, our friendly neighbourhood vintage ice cream van driver, also came along to learn a bit about photographing...
Friday Finds and Wooly Lamp Shades
I got a bit spangly this week. Because, you know, spangly stuff rocks. So here are my Friday Finds:

Look at all the pretties

Charlottehas been knitting lamp shade covers recently. We love them, I have one of the trial runs by my bed. This one is my favourite colour, but we have olive green and neutrals also in stock, in a variety of patterns. Charlotte might also be convinced to knit one in a...
Washi Wednesday. It's all about the sticks.
It's Wednesday! The weeks are flying by aren't they? We're hurtling towards the C-Word at an epic pace.

This week's Washi Wednesday was proposed by Zoë, who saw it here (with a handy tutorial), and executed by me at Knit & Natter last night. I'll be honest, there is always natter, but the knitting doesn't necessarily materialise.

Washi pick-up-sticks.

We headed up the street to check out our friend...
Friday Finds from Staffordshire Potteries
I found a glut of beautiful retro mugs on my travels over the weekend. We are in love with these, Amy and Zoë were fighting over the purple flowery one, so we're going to have to sell them so there are no arguments!

Washi Wednesday
Washi bunting! Hurrah. And Chocolate Beetroot cake made by my Mum. Might sound weird, but tastes delicious.

Calling all crafters....
Etsyis a joyous place full of wonder and excitement. Amy and I often have conversations along the lines of 'I was going to do this thing, but then I got trapped in Etsy and I don't know what happened'. I suspect you might have done that too. You find something that looks amazing, then you find something else that looks better, then a third thing and a fourth. It actually takes you forever to make...
Oooh, that's a bit yummy
Might order myself a fat quarter of this beautiful new fabric from Riley Blake's 'Hipster'(!) range at The Village Haberdashery. What for? I don't really know yet. I'm sure it'll come in for something... Another Mod Podged suitcase perhaps?

Shop. Trashed.
Amy's been trashing the shop! Well, it all started on Wednesday, when Mum came over and helped us wield a large power tool, resulting in our new greetings card display. Zoë and I stood back and offered constructive feedback and support.

Yesterday, Amy was left on her own. She has seemed a bit fidgety for a while now, but I wasn't overly concerned. Until I arrived at the shop this...
Friday Finds
This week's Friday Find is from Paul. He spied this gem and saw it's potential, despite needing a good clean, whilst visiting relatives up north.

This Metamec beauty was made in England in the early 1980s. We adore its beautiful face and retro styling. As Paul has a number of clocks already, he has kindly decided this one can be sold in the shop.

Washi Wednesday
Apparently, Badminton racquets flake black stuff all over your hands. Or at least the inexpensive ones do. The racquet pictured below has been given a face lift by covering the flaking handle in Washi. Problem solved.

Battle of the books

I have an announcement from the Berylune Librarian (aka Zoë):

After the success of our book club meeting this week when we chose The Hunger Games, our next book club options also feature a young adult fiction title, The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. As a contrast this time we have Ben Elton's Blind Faith.

If you would like to vote for our next choice please leave a comment below or vote on...
Friday Finds
Amy spotted this week's Friday Find, knowing full well I wouldn't be able to resist buying it. It's a massive, and I mean MASS-HIVE (works better if you imagine Denise saying it), hole punch. It does 4 holes. I don't think it's particularly old; I don't even need a four-hole punch, but I just love that it's so enormous! I'm using it for a door stop in our office at home.

I've photographed it next...
For the love of Washi, is it Wednesday already?
We have a new thing! We have boxes for storing your Washi in. Look how pretty they are, all lined up and ready to use. They also stack, and you can label them. One for every colour? Season? Project? Joy.

If I had to pick just one...
We love Tunnocks around here. We are very much divided though - I'm a Teacake girl. I like the marshmallow centre and the variety of different ways in which I can eat it. I am especially fond of the packaging, the foil wrappers make me happy. Part of the ritual is trying to flatten the foil square completely when I'm finished with its contents.

Amy, on the other hand, is a Caramel girl. Aside from...
Friday Finds
I've been at Denise's Hens' do this evening. We had great fun, I got to turn Charlotte in to a swan with toilet paper.

This week's Friday find is from Zoë - she found these gorgeous Rosti Danish egg cups, which are now for sale in the shop:

They're really tactile and stack beautifully.

Washi Wednesday
This week I watched jumbo lolly sticks (or tongue depressors) soak in water for three days, so I could bend them around a shampoo bottle (slowly), tie them in place with some wool and spend a day watching them dry. I lost momentum at this point, so Amy wrapped this one in rainbow stripes of Washi tape and Zoë modeled the result. Team effort.

Friday Finds. Late again.
Sorry! I know. It's Saturday. Yesterday was spent at wedding dress fittings (not my own!), making quiche, packing picnics and hanging out at the park until they chucked us out. But there is always another park.

This week's Friday Find is a joint effort from myself and Fiona - I spotted it and she bought it, but then gave it back to me! So thank you Fiona, I love it.

It's a snake vase!

It's really...
